Pride Shabbat Service, Board of Trustees Installation, and Israel Mission Blessing – JOIN US!

Raise your glass and make a toast! You and your friends are invited to our Pride Shabbat service that focuses on unity, equality and inclusion for all, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. The LGBTQA+ Equality service is filled with music, poetry, and prayer led by Rabbi Jon Hanish and Cantor Noa Shaashua. We will begin at 5:45 pm with wine and cheese (advance RSVP please) to meet our new Board of Trustees, as this evening will celebrate their installation. Our Shabbat service begins at 6:30 pm with our clergy and featuring guest speaker, Carolyn Weiss. We will also be offering a blessing to those traveling to Israel. Socializing, coffee, and dessert to follow service. Free parking in the rear – enter our parking lot on Del Moreno Drive (second driveway on the right.) We Welcome Guest Speaker Carolyn Weiss
Carolyn Weiss was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. and has lived in the L.A. area since 1959. She is a graduate of CSU, Northridge, and has been retired for six years, as she was a City Administrator in Torrance, California. She is married and has an adult son.
Carolyn began her journey to womanhood at the age of 55. She came out to her co-workers and friends as a transgender woman in 2011. She was honored by the Los Angeles City Council as an LGBT Pioneer. Carolyn served three years on the West Hollywood Transgender Advisory Board, owned a business consulting firm, and is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Los Angeles Gender Center, a non-profit which provides gender therapy and training for therapists.
