Pride Shabbat services focus on unity, equality and inclusion for all, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. The service is filled with music, poetry, and prayer. Special guest speaker, Laurie Boykoff, discusses “Faces of Diversity, Faces of Allyship.” Led by Rabbi Jon Hanish and Cantor Noa Shaashua. Socializing, coffee, and sweet treats to follow. We welcome Laurie Tragen-Boykoff, LCSW:
A licensed Clinical Social Worker, Laurie Tragen-Boykoff works to address the needs of the LGBTQ community. Laurie is a member of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health and is on the JQ International Speaker Bureau. She worked for Jewish Family Service for eight years, providing child abuse/exploitation prevention and intervention services. Laurie has worked clinically and taught advocacy skills, for 20 years, to other vulnerable groups. Currently, Laurie is on staff at Congregation Or Ami as the Social Action Coordinator, initiating and organizing multiple social justice projects, motivating and encouraging numerous congregants to participate. She has two children and is a member of Congregation Or Ami, a Reform synagogue in Calabasas, CA.
