Adult Education: The Jewish Soul of Classical Music Composers – 3 of 3 Classes

February 26 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

It took centuries for Jews to become established as composers of classical music.  However, since the early 19th century Jewish culture has expressed itself through concert music in startling and beautiful ways.  This class will explore how Jews have engaged in this traditionally Christian art form, sometimes in hidden ways and sometimes in ways which are uniquely and overtly Jewish. Taught by Jonathan Degann, Congregant & Musician. All classes are held from 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm. Course fees: advance RSVP $36, on the day of $72 – To register or for information, contact Debbie at 818.348.0670 x200 or dshayer@koltikvah.org.

Class Dates: January 29, February 12 & 26, 2018
