Prayer / Tanakh
During what is usually the Bar/Bat mitzvah year, students will explore prayer. They will learn what it means to pray, explore the meaning of the Shabbat services prayers; and write their own creative prayers on classic Jewish themes.
During the seventh grade year, students will take their first look at the Prophets. We will pick up the biblical history of the Jewish people immediately after Torah, and look at the messages of the prophets; what it mean to be a prophet, who could be a prophet, and why we don't acknowledge prophets today
