Tanakh / Folk Stories
- Introduction to the stories in Torah. During the course of the year, we will explore key stories in Torah. The students will learn the names of the books in Torah; and the names of the other sections of Tanakh.
Grades 2-3 Odd Years
Midot-Mitzvot / Life Cycle
- The basics of what it means to be a Mensch; Being a Mensch to myself; Being a Mensch to others; Bring Jewish values to life with blend of mitzvot, midot, and an initial exploration of Rabbinic wisdom. During this year, we will introduce the students to folk stories as a way to teach / learn values.
- A first look at the Jewish lifecycle. What is a 'cycle'?; Overview of the journey from birth to death, and the markers that occur in between
